Oak Salon is an absolutely stunning, independent hair salon located in Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood. From the space itself to the extremely talented women who work there, this project was an absolute aesthetic dream.

The salon boasts massive, near floor-to-ceiling windows at its front. I loved the brightness and softness they gave off and wanted to really bring that ethereal light into these photos. For that reason, I decided to bounce a studio light off the back wall to create a "makeshift window" of sorts, and photographed my subjects backlit.

Every inch of Oak is both welcoming and truly beautiful. Its owner, Heather (of Fig and Oak Salons) has poured herself into making sure every single corner of her brand is perfection and gives off a sense of warmth and purity.
